Wellsmere Collies has and will always endeavor to produce intelligent, healthy, loving animals who have been given the greatest possible training, socialization, care and love.  Each pup is an intrigal part of a planned breeding program designed to sustain and enhance the traits that make the breed so remarkable.  I require those who purchase any of my pups to keep me updated on each pup's progress so that I can continually evaluate the strengths of my program.  In turn, as a responsible breeder, I will keep your contact information current and commit to being available throughout the life of the animal as a resource and a friend.

Listed below are the terms of my sales contract:

Upon payment in full, the owner will receive:

  1. AKC registration
  2. vaccination record
  3. microchip documentation
  4. 3 generation pedigree
  5. feeding and care instructions
  6. disclosure of any known health or inheritable defects of the animal, littermates, sire and dam

The Buyer agrees to provide a life-long commitment, comfortable environment, prompt medical attention, proper grooming and responsible care. This includes keeping this puppy/dog parasite free and up to date with inoculations, proper nutrition, which consists of a good quality professional feed given at regular intervals, and fresh water available at all times. The Buyer promises to provide a safe environment for the dog, and never allow the dog to roam freely without proper fencing or supervision. The Seller will remain as an auxiliary contact on the AKC Reunite microchip database.

The Buyer will make Seller immediately aware of any life changes that would not allow owner to continue to care for the animal in the manner set forth above and as follows:

  1. The animal will be a house dog, living the majority of the time inside the home with the family.
  2. The animal will have access to a securely fenced area or be under constant supervision.
  3. The animal will not be chained.
  4. The animal will get yearly veterinary exams, heartworm preventative, vaccinations, and rabies vaccinations per state law.  The animal will receive any needed veterinary care deemed reasonable and necessary.
  5. The owner acknowledges that this animal was produced as part of a planned breeding program and that continuing knowledge of the health of this animal is of concern to the Seller and will be provided to the Seller throughout the life of the animal.

The Buyer agrees not to use the animal for breeding and agrees to have it spayed/neutered at the age of 13-14 months.  It is also highly recommended that a gastroplasty be performed at this time.  This animal will have a limited AKC registration.

If at any time the Buyer can no longer retain possession of this dog, the Seller is to be notified and given first option of resuming full ownership of dog in order for the Seller to locate this dog a new home.  Refunds, if any, will be at the discretion of the Breeder/ Seller. The dog will be returned with all AKC papers and medical records. Should any circumstances arise that affect the quality of life of this dog, the Breeder/Seller is to be informed so that they may participate in determining the future of the animal.  The Breeder/ Seller reserves the right to approve/prohibit any transfer of this animal to a third party. Under no circumstances will this dog be sold, leased, traded or given away to any pet shop, research laboratory, animal shelter or similar facility.

The Seller guarantees this puppy/dog to be of sound health and temperament at the time of this sale. A health record of all shots and wormings will be provided by the Seller.  The Buyer agrees to take this dog to a licensed veterinarian of his choice within 72 hours for a physical examination.  Should puppy/dog be determined to be in ill health, the cause of which is clearly attributable to the Seller, the dog may, upon signed written diagnosis from said veterinarian, be returned for refund of the purchase price. The Seller will assume no responsibility if this puppy/dog is given Ivermectin, Immodium, Nextgard, Bravecto, Simparica Trio, Soresto collar or any of the collie-sensitive drugs and suffers an adverse reaction. No other guarantees are given.

The Buyer agrees to contact the Seller immediately if any questions or concerns arise about the dog, such as housing, diet, health or training. The buyer agrees to keep the seller informed of any treatment as it occurs. This provides the Breeder/Seller with an opportunity to follow up on puppies and gives us important feedback and information on the health or our dogs for future generations. The Buyer will make breeder aware of any change in address or contact information.

The Seller will be available to the owner for any questions or concerns that he/she may have about the animal for the lifetime of the animal.  Seller will notify owner of any change in address or contact information.  Seller encourages the owner to maintain contact and provide information on the animal’s progress throughout its lifetime.  Seller commits to notifying owner of any known health or temperament issues that arise with littermates, sire or dam of the animal that would affect the owner’s animal.

The preceding paragraphs contain conditions established to ensure the well-being of the dog, but also to uphold and maintain the reputation of quality that Wellsmere Collies has established over many years. The Buyer’s agreements will continue for the dog’s life and the Seller will have the right to enforce all agreements.
